About

Connections is a transitional housing and re-entry program for women coming from prison. We operate a thrift store that assist with program funding and serves the community when we are housed. We also operate a food pantry in partnership with GBR Food Bank.
Volunteer and Community Service Opportunities

Thrift Store Volunteer
Typical duties for Thrift Store Volunteers may include sorting donations; tagging merchandise; hanging clothing; stocking shelves and racks; straightening the sales floor; arranging merchandise displays; testing and/or repairing small appliances; assembling furniture; and most importantly, greeting customers. You get to choose where your talents will best be utilized.

Office Assistant Volunteer (4 hours per month, morning and afternoon acceptable)
Connections for Life Office Assistants help make the office run smoothly, enabling us to reach out to more people and become more efficient and organized. Requirements include a great desire to work with people; good communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to multi-task; good with details; and a willingness to provide administrative assistance to the Director and Administrator.

Food Pantry Coordinator Volunteer (8-12 hours per month overall several days)
The Food Pantry Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Food Pantry. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining records, overseeing the preparation of food bags and assisting the Intake Clerk.

Food Pantry Intake Clerk Volunteer (8 am – 1 pm and 1 pm – 5 pm)
Intake Clerks deal directly with our Food Pantry clients, interviewing them and validating their qualifications to receive food. We are looking for four individuals to serve in this position.
